The Judge Peter E. Love House

2025-2026 Award of Outstanding Achievement
Tom & Karen Annexstad

Constructed c. 1840, the house was integrated in the rehabilitation program Landmarks initiated in the Love Street and Warren Avenue neighborhood in 2014. The property has faced many challenges – division into 5 apartments, spending an extended period as a vacant property, and then damaged badly by a fallen tree.

With guidance provided by architect Charles Olson, the Annexstad’s undertook an extensive renovation which was completed in 2025. Work included duplicating, and installing, the original 1840s cornice and returning the exterior front porch to its original configuration. On the interior, the house was taken down to the studs with the original floorplan returned to the dwelling. The Judge Peter E. Love House is located at 141 S. Love Street.
